There’s a question that runs through everyone’s mind before a photoshoot:
WHAT TO WEAR?
That’s why I decided to help you with some tips and guidance on these important details. Let’s get started!
The family photoshoot...
It’s about telling your story through photography. The result is having captured a moment you will joyfully remember forever.
For this reason, choosing clothes that reflect each family’s identity and personality is an important detail!
And it’s essential that everyone feels comfortable and recognizes themselves in the outfit they choose to wear. Feel free to be yourselves!
Avoid uncomfortable clothes that restrict your movement or require constant adjustments. This way, you’ll feel much freer and more relaxed during the session.
COLOR PALETTE
When it comes to photography, the question always comes up: do we have to wear white? And the answer is NOOO!! Haha, unless you want to wear light white! But the idea that everyone has to wear white in photos is something I don’t agree with. After all, everyone should feel comfortable with their choices—whether it’s white, neutrals, black, or colorful clothes.
Of course, we do use colors to harmonize the overall look of the session.
So, we can use shades of white, beige, colors, black, neutrals, everything within the context of the session.
Imagine a family session where Mom wears a green dress, Dad wears a red shirt, blue sneakers, and the baby wears an orange onesie or dress there’s so much color going on, it can get a bit confusing, right?
That’s why the best approach is to harmonize everyone’s wardrobe with each person’s own style, regardless of the colors chosen.

🌿 Tips for Choosing What to Wear
The most important thing is that you feel free, comfortable, and at ease to move, play, and connect with your children and your family. Choose clothing that allows you to move naturally, without restricting your gestures or expressions.
If you enjoy wearing prints or patterns, feel free to include them! Just try to keep them more subtle or in smaller doses, so they don’t draw too much attention away from what truly matters: you and the connection between you. The goal is for your outfits to complement the photos, not overpower them.
✨ Extra tip: Dresses, tunics, traditional or modern outfits, whatever makes you feel good and represents who you are is perfect. The most beautiful thing in a session is when each person feels seen, authentic, and fully themselves.
Makeup for the Photoshoot Day
Makeup on the day of your session is important , but also very personal. I recommend keeping it light and natural.
Since we’re aiming for a timeless look in your photos, soft tones especially earthy, neutral shades enhance your natural beauty without changing who you are. This creates a more authentic and elegant result.
Even if you're not a big fan of makeup, it’s still worth doing something minimal: well-hydrated skin, a touch of concealer, or some powder can give your face a healthy glow and a subtle lift without taking away from your natural look.
👶 Comfort & Care for the Little Ones
The most important thing is that babies and children feel comfortable in whatever they’re wearing. I love solid colors and also fun patterns for little ones. A great option is to mix one solid piece with something a bit more colorful or playful , it brings a nice balance to the photos.
(I absolutely love bodysuits, dresses, shorts, or little pants with suspenders , but what matters most is choosing what reflects your family’s style and culture!)
Since I work with families from different backgrounds, you're free to choose outfits that best represent your personality and traditions. The goal is for your child to feel happy, relaxed, and free to be themselves!
🌙 Important tips before the session:
1- Make sure your baby has had a good nap before the session.
2-Feed them calmly beforehand, so they’re not hungry when we start.
3-Bring a small snack or bottle just in case they get hungry during the shoot.
4- A favorite toy or soothing object can also help keep them comfortable.
5-When all their needs are taken care of, the session flows beautifully, and their smiles shine for real!
